This Unique One of a Kind Special Grand American was a combined effort by Winchester and Master Engraver Mr. Sam Welch.
Mr. Welch was the winner of the annual Engravers Guild Competition in 1984.
First Prize was the distinct pleasure of Engraving a Factory Winchester Model 21, Two barrel set of Grand American Quality in his own design.
This Special Custom Winchester Grand American, two barrel set , consists of 26" Factory Vent Rib Barrels, Choked WS1 and WS11,
( 2 3/4" Chambers ), 28" Factory Vent Rib Barrels, Choked Modified and Full, ( 3" Chambers ) Gold Line Borders and Cartouches Accent
the 11 Birds and 3 Dogs Carefully Inlayed with Gold and Platinum Wire. On the Left Side an English Pointer in Platinum Stands on Point while
Two Gold Pheasants, one on the Forward Frame and the Other on the Upper Barrel Breach, Break for the Sky.
The Right Side of the Frame Mirrors the Scroll and Borders of the Left and Displays a Gold Inlayed Black Lab in a Duck Blind Scene,
and a Gold Mallard Drake on the Forward Frame Area. Another Gold Mallard Drake is Inlayed on the Top of the Breech.
On the Trigger Plate an English Setter Bust is Inlayed in Platinum, with a Gold Quail in his Mouth. Three other Gold Quail Flush away from the Dog Portrait.
The Trigger Guard Sports a Gold Ruffed Grouse and Gold Line Border Work to Complete the Engraving. Exhibition XXXX Full Figured,
